Prompt 1

The war in the Middle East involving the United States and Afganistan has gone on ever since George Bush declared war on Saddam Hussein. Bush declared war right after 9-11 occurred due to suspensions that Hussein was behind the attack. The war has been going on for a good nine years and two different presidents have had to deal with the war.

The war in the Middle East has had a great effect on the people back in the states. Many families are being separated with troops being sent over sea's. War can bring out some tough times in families. I personally have witnessed through my family. This is because, my uncle was sent over sea's to help out with the war. Before he was sent, I would get to see him every year at Christmas and thanksgiving, but now I haven't seen him in four years. He is one of my favorite my uncle's and I really looked forward to seeing him each year, and now its just not the same. This has been very tough for not only my family and I but its been really hard on my Aunt, who is living on her own.

There has been a major change in the media ever since we started sending troops before seas. When I turn on the news it seems like there is always talk about soldiers in the war either getting injured or killed. It really sickens me how people are risking their life for me and they get rewarded by getting their life taken away. Fortunately, in recent years the war has been slowing down and fewer and fewer deaths are occuring. More troops are being sent back home which leads to more families being reunited. My family found out that my uncle is returning home in three months and I cant way to finally see him.
